SKY4, WSKYSKY Television's Independent "SKY4TV" WSKY Manteo/Chesapeake will return to the DirecTV local channel line-up on January 1, 2012. The station was dropped three years when papers to be filed for continuing carriage on DirecTV were too late. DirecTV is only carrying Channel 4 is SD (standard definition).

Universal SportsIn other WSKY news, the station is dropping NBCUniversal/InterMedia Partners' Universal Sports seen over-the-air on channel 4-2 and on Verizon FiOS (channel 464). The network is repositioning itself as a national sports network (and going high definition) instead of an over-the-air digital multicast (diginet) network beginning January 1.
