:// Not so fast | Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Recently the FCC granted Stu-Comm's low power translator W218BZ Crozet to go from 10 watts to 195 watts and move from 91.5 to 101.1. It rebroadcasts the programming of Virginia Tech and Ferrum College's "Radio IQ" heard in the area on the digital subchannel WVTW-HD2/88.5 Charlottesville.
The Board of Trustees of Eastern Mennonite University and the James Madison University Board of Visitors recently filed Petitions for Reconsideration for the new CP (construction permit) granted. There are no specifics to why they want the FCC's decision reversed.
After Cox Radio's WDYL moved off of 101.1 (to 100.9), Stu-comm quickly filed an application for W218BZ to move from 91.5 to 101.1 and increase its power. | back to top |

Sky Television's Independent WSKY (4) Manteo/Chesapeake is now referring themselves as "SKY4TV."
The station was known as "SKY4" as soon as it signed-on on September 11, 2001. With it's analog antenna way down in North Carolina, many people thought of WSKY strictly as a North Carolina station. That was the reasoning to the transition to "Channel 4 Hampton Roads" three years ago along with a new logo.
